The year 1972 was extraordinary. Not because of some space research or medical discovery, but due to the creation of one of the greatest shows at Broadway titled “Grease”. Two talented people, Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, wrote a love story and composed some fine tunes, and combined them both. The result was a smashing play depicting high school love with a rock’n’roll party that the audience just couldn’t forget.

Today, in the year 2007, “Grease” still continues to entertain the audience. It has the same magic as it had three decades ago. No one could have predicted that the five-hour show, which was opened in Chicago in 1972, could break all records and continue to be shown for decades! However, when “Grease” was shown outside Chicago, it was reduced to two hours.

The noteworthy thing about “Grease” is that it started with amateur actors and a simple garage background. Later, when the movie “Grease” was made, it starred the much adored John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. What mattered was not the star cast, but the acting skills shown by the actors, the fine direction given by Jacobs and Casey, the amazing choreography given by Patricia Birch, the superb lighting and sound arrangement, and the fabulous costumes designed by the creative team of “Grease”.

The show was enough to rock Broadway and attract theatre fans like honey bees. People were eager to know the story of two rebellious teens who fall in love at high school. The two characters are opposite. One is flirtatious while the other is virtuous. When the two meet, the love story takes an unexpected turn.

The music of “Grease” is the biggest attraction. Even a person who does not want to call himself or herself a music buff will take notice. Some of the hit songs that have made the world go crazy are: ‘Greased Lightinin’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Could Do’, ‘Beauty School Dropout’, ‘You’re the One That I Want’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, ‘We Go Together’, and ‘Sandy’.

The good news for “Grease” fans is that a new revival of this show is in the making. The direction and choreography is provided by Kathleen Marshall. This new production promises to create frenzy among audience. If “Grease” has the magic, then the new “Grease” will have the seduction!

If you are a trendy individual who believes to keep pace with the changing world, then you won’t miss this Broadway musical that has won seven Tony Awards! “Grease” is unique. “Grease” is a love story. It has the music that you have always wanted to hear. “Grease” is a complete family entertainer.

Go alone or go with your family; bring your lover along, or a bunch of buddies; whatever, but do not miss this exceptional teen love story that harbors a rocking party. If you want to join the party, you will have to act fast and dial a number for booking the tickets. You can also log online.

There is a super hit musical that has broken all earlier box office records and is set to become a legend on Broadway. This is “Wicked”, which is running for four years in the theatres! Had anybody thought that the mystifying tale of the witches of Oz could intrigue audience to such an extent? Well, the director of the musical, Joe Mantello, and the book writer, Winnie Holzman, certainly wouldn’t have!

However, with a fabulous music and lyrics given by Stephen Schwartz and musical staging done by Wayne Cilento, “Wicked” wouldn’t have been better! The story is based on Gregory Maguire’s best selling novel. The story talks about the life of two girls, who meet in Oz before the entry of Dorothy.

One of them has an emerald green skin with smart and fiery looks. She is largely misunderstood. The other one is pretty, highly ambitious, and popular. Wicked follows the two young women, who are completely different from each other. One of them becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, while the other turns into Glinda, the Good witch. The story has many new as well as familiar characters to watch out for.

The show stars Julia Murney in the role of Elphaba; Kendra Kassehaum plays the role of Glinda, the good witch; Lenny Wolpe can be seen as The Wizard; Sebastian Arcelus plays the role of Fiyero; Jane Houdyshelll performs beautifully as Madame Morrible; Cristy Candler is Nessarose; Logan Lipton can be seen as Boq; and Steven Skybell is Doctor Dillamond in the story. The entire star cast has displayed a remarkable performance, thus, contributing to its phenomenal success.

This show is prohibited for children below 4 years of age. Although, the show is free of sexual depictions, there are a few adult themes that might not be appropriate for children. The show runs for 2 hours and 45 minutes, yet, you never feel bored a single second. In fact, you hardly remember to glance at your watch! As the mystery of the two witches unfolds, you are spell bound by the picturization and action happening on stage. The most interesting part of the story is when they show how the two girls turn into completely different witches!

The entire Land of Oz comes to life on the stage! You are gripped by the charisma of each character and can hardly escape! If you want to experience the thrill of spending time with witches, then book your tickets fast through phone or internet. The best place to watch “Wicked” is from the front row seats! How close you are to the magical land, the land where there is good as well as evil magic, where the witches are fiery, ambitious, beautiful, and popular!

There is something in “Wicked” that draws audience like bees to honey. Has the director cast a magic spell on the show or did the wizard of Oz come to life during the making of the show? Perhaps, it’s just the coming together of highly talented and creative artists that have made history on Broadway!

Kira, a beautiful Greek muse comes down from heaven of Mt. Olympus and reaches Venice Beach in California. This happens in 1980. Kira has a purpose. She is here to motivate a struggling artist named Sonny to open Roller Disco, one of the biggest artistic creations ever.

However, the story takes a turn when Kira falls in love with Sonny. So, what’s the fuss about it? Well, Kira is a magical angel from heaven while Sonny is a mortal! The story gets chaotic when Kira’s envious sisters make the most of this situation.

Kerry Butler as Kira in this 90-minute Broadway production sets the audiences’ hearts soaring with her beautiful performance. The music is taken from the movie version of “Xanadu” that starred Gene Kelly and Olivia Newton-John. It includes the top 20 Billboard hits like ‘Magic’, ‘Xanadu’, ‘I’m alive’, and ‘Party All Over the World’.

The musical has a fantastic comedy. Of course, it has to be! With Broadway’s topmost satirist Douglas Carter Beane, Broadway’s favorite pop music composers John Farrar and Jeff Lynne, and one of the most creative directors Christopher Ashley coming together to form one of the most thrilling teams of Broadway, nothing less than “Xanadu” can be expected!

John and Jeff’s smashing numbers like “Suddenly”, “Evil Woman”, “All Over The World”, “Magic”, “Have You Never Been Mellow”, “I’m Alive”, “XANADU”, and others sends pulsating energy across the theatre.

“Xanadu” is a complete family entertainer with an inspiring story about chasing your dreams without caring about your inhibitions and restrictions imposed on you. It’s about listening to your heart and showcasing your talent to the world. Once you prove that you have it in you to make it big, the world follows you and you get the well-deserved applause.

So, come with your mom, dad, granny, girlfriend, boyfriend, buddy, or colleagues, or just alone, and watch this lively musical love story. Get the flavor of 1980 culture, along with music that penetrates deep into your heart. There is endless enjoyment and lots of motivation, as you watch the magical Kira help Sonny’s dreams come to life. Join Sonny in making his idea of Roller Disco turn into reality. Perhaps you might get a surge of inspiration to follow your own dreams as well. You might even get a mind blowing idea and the guts to implement it.

All this can happen if you watch “Xanadu”. However, there’s a little problem. The tickets to this show might not be available as easily as you think. Tickets are being sold like hot cakes. The line seems to be endless at the box office. If you do not want to test your patience, the best way is to go online and book your tickets. You can even get it home delivered. Another way is to dial the number of ticketing services. If lady luck is by your side, you might even get tickets for the front row!

So, get ready to be swept off your feet by the magical beauty, Kira and the ambitious dreamer, Sonny.

The mystical story “Lord of the rings” has been adapted from the awesome book of the same name authored by J.R. Tolkein. The movie is basically a sequel of the book The Hobbit that had been authored previously by Tolkein for his children. It was the immense popularity that led Tolkein to pen another book named as the “The Lord of the Rings”.
Utmost care has been exercised as not to contort Tolkien’s original epic writing style for the to fulfillment of the technicalities of the conventional standards of theatrical musical as opposed to the average norms and traditions of the theatre that have been stretched to the end limits for accommodation to Tolkien’s writing. The story possesses the ability to both amaze and provide comical moments that not only thrill but also and excite the adult and the young audience alike owing to the magical and the mystical experience. Its successful adaptation of the theatre show leads to the transportation of the spectators into a fantasy world that not only has powerful imagery but excellent special effects that makes the viewers cry and laugh along the characters.
The task of adapting such a rich story on stage was a challenge in itself that was successfully handled by the director. Portraying several events such as the depiction of good versus bad, the fight sequences, different species to name a few was a challenge in itself and it was theoretically and artistically dealt with to utmost perfection negating Warchus’s earlier notion that the comprehensive storyline was impossible to be summarized on stage. However after repeated readings his mind cleared up and he could imagine the creation of landscapes and sets much as in the original movie.
According to the story Isuldur tries to use the power of the Ring of invisibility in order to escape but losses it in a river and is murdered. Centuries later it is found by two friends by coincidence. Sméagol murders his friend D’agol for the possession of the ring. He uses its power of invisibility for all kinds of malpractices including theft and listening in on secrets. He was loathed by people and consequently named “Gollum” owing to his strange habit of making gurgling noises in his throat. Sick of the abuses being flung at him all the time he leaves for the caverns that are beneath the Misty Mountains believing that he can find the secret of how the world came into being. This is depicted in the setting of 2470, or more appropriately the Third Age of the Middle-Earth.
The story captivates with advancement. It has been dealt in an equally impressive way as a show. In order for personal identification of one self seeing the movie/ show is a must. The magic begins when the curtains are drawn apart… But it does not end even after the show has finished. The story captivates you long after you have left the theatre. The magnificence of the theatre and its sets transport you in to another world.
Booking Your Tickets

Securing an orchestra, mezzanine or premium seats to the show is not as difficult as it may seem. Seafarer Broadway tickets can be secured at the box office on the day of the show, but you run the risk of not getting there on time and being disappointed as the last few tickets that were available were sold out.

Seafarer Broadway tickets can be secured from your neighborhood scalper or via an auction site online, but you may end up paying hefty prices for rather cheap tickets or perhaps may even end up buying counterfeit tickets.

Tickets for a Pygmalion NY theatre show are a wonderful way to catch the best of New York and one of the best plays to ever hit the stage. While some plays sparkle and then fade with the years, Pygmalion is one that has endured the changes of time. Even in today’s world of cellular phones and space travel, Pygmalion still speaks to audiences and makes them laugh. Not only is it a hit in the English-speaking world, the play has also been adapted into a number of other languages.

A Master’s Masterpiece

Pygmalion was written by GB Shaw in 1913, and was adapted from the original Pygmalion that was written many years ago by Ovid. Shaw had already distinguished himself as a playwright par excellence. While some plays plodded on in heavy overtones about the social injustices of the times, others were nothing more than light-hearted pieces, with very little or no substance at all. Shaw managed to marry both concepts quite expertly in all his plays- Pygmalion in particular is indeed a stinging satire about class distinctions in England at that time. Nevertheless, it is done in such a light-hearted and witty way, Shaw neatly puts his point across, without being melodramatic or heavy-handed.

Today, fans are prepared to wait in line for a Pygmalion NY theatre show, because the play is still very popular. This has been another notable aspect of the play- while some works are simply enjoyed for what they are; Pygmalion has been adapted numerous times on the stage and in Hollywood to suit the changing times. In fact, the unforgettable movie Pretty Woman that catapulted Julia Roberts into superstardom is a modern take on Pygmalion. However, perhaps the most monumental production of the play is the Academy award winning My Fair Lady.

All I Want Is a Room Somewhere

My Fair Lady was already making waves, even before it went into production. If there is such a demand for the Pygmalion NY theatre show today, it’s because of the buzz that started back then when the play hit Broadway. Julie Andrews was a legendary success in the lead role on stage, but on film, it was Audrey Hepburn, who would beat out stalwarts like Elizabeth Taylor for the role. The play is perhaps best known for its songs, such as ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly’, ‘The Rain in Spain’ and ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’.

If the Pygmalion NY theatre shows were successful, My Fair Lady would prove to be phenomenal, veritably sweeping the Oscars with a stunning eight Academy award wins. The movie would go on to be ranked as one of the greatest American movies of all time and one of the best musicals. Pygmalion of course has done very well for itself too. Not only is it prescribed in curriculums right across the world, it regularly is revived on the stage, with many top-notch actors trying their hand at the immortal roles of Eliza and Henry Higgins. Needless to say, getting tickets for Pygmalion will mean waiting in line, but you can easily avoid all that. Contact an authorized online ticket vendor and you can buy your tickets for a Pygmalion NY theatre show from home.

London Theatre Tickets are one of the most resilient of animals having overcome a multitude of challenges to still reign supreme in the world of entertainment. All we had was theatre tickets for years and years then suddenly there are hundreds and thousands of new kids on the block. Movies, TV, the Internet and computer games all vying for the attention of a public who is being pulled this way and that. But still top shows sell out night after night, and this can really be put down to some great writing and amazing new shows that constantly hit the stage each month and year.

London Theatre – Not All Shows Created Equal…

Some of these shows are really special like Wicked and The Lion King which seem to transcend theatre and plant you in a world of magic and wonder! Other shows don’t hit the public imagination at all and are gone with the wind before they even get started.

The best shows for me start off with a small production touring the county and then get bigger and bigger as word of mouth spreads and causes more and more demand. Most of the time a successful show will run for maybe three years then clever producers will end the run when they see that sales are waning a little. Only to reopen a couple of years later when the public have forgotten they were ever getting jaded. OLIVER! is a great example of that.

You sometimes get really a monster hit like ‘Phantom of the Opera’ that runs for many years and show no sign of loosing pace. AND Mousetrap has now been on for a whopping 50 years!

Your first night in the West End will be a shining life long memory if you’re anything like me, probably you will have a pre-theatre meal at one of the many delicious restaurants spotted around Theatreland. Then make your way with butterflies in your stomach to the theatre and take you seat to the sound of the band tuning up. The first show I ever saw was Oliver at the Palladium and it was marvelous. My sister loved it so much in fact that she made me take her again the very next week. Even though we are all grown up now she still wants to see every show I get tickets for

Take the Kids!

Theatre Tickets can be a very rewarding gift for your children, you just have to look at the excitement in their eyes and see the sheer joy that young people get from good old showbiz. So much of what children consume these days is hurtful and violent, but theater is an altogether more wholesome experience showing the value of hard work, talent and confidence.

With that being said we’ve been going out more and more recently seeing all kinds of shows from all over the world, some great and some not so great but there have of course been our favorites: Sound of music, We will rock you and Billy Elliot all stood out as being far ahead of the competition. My next trip will defiantly be Zorro, what could be better than a mixture of swashbuckling action and gypsy kings music!

In my darker moments I really want to take my wife to Avenue Q as we were both big fans of the Muppets and I’ve herd it absolutely superb, like a total laugh-a-minute wet your pants kind of show. (If a little blue.)

I know that not everyone is going to like every show but I think the key thing is to get out there to keep trying things on for size. If we all stay at home and watch Eastenders every night we’re going to shrivel up and die. (Whoa I’m getting a little spiritual there!)

Theatre is most resilient of animals and none shall overcome…

It is hard to find regular tickets to Broadway shows but an even more difficult task is to find last minute theatre tickets. Many people find themselves in the Big Apple unexpectedly and most tourists are satisfied until they have watched a show on the Broadway.

Getting Last Minute Theatre Tickets

If you are in NYC and need last minute theatre tickets, there are several methods through which the tickets can be obtained. Most tourists find it easy to secure the day of the performance tickets from the TKTS booths that are operated by the Theatre Development Fund. Most tickets are offered at a discount ranging from 25-75% of the face value. One of the TKTS booths is in Times Square and the other is located at the Lower Manhattan Theatre Centre at South Street Seaport. The booths have a list of the shows for which tickets are available with them.

You can also check if the show that you wish to watch has any rush or standing room only tickets. Some shows have a lottery conducted about 3 hours prior to a performance and winners are awarded tickets at great discounts. To avail that, you need to be present to collect the tickets personally.

If you are desperate for last minute theatre tickets, you should try and find if there are any discount tickets available at the box office. These tickets are offered at a discount as they offer obstructed views. Standing room only tickets come at a discount too, but you have to watch the show standing at the back of the theatre.

You can also find last minute theatre tickets by waiting at the box office for returned tickets as well as the day-of-the-performance tickets. There is no guarantee that you will get the tickets but there is no harm in trying.

The local scalper can get you the tickets too. You may find them at online auctions as well but they come with a risk as you have no way of knowing if the tickets that you have paid for are genuine or not. You may end up denting your pockets for a fake ticket!

The best place to get last minute theatre tickets is from an authorized ticket broker. They have a huge inventory and can get you last minute theatre tickets even for shows that have been sold out! You can go online and make your request or give them a call. They will secure the tickets and have them delivered to you as soon as possible (hours prior to the show). The tickets that a registered broker can procure for you are genuine and come with a guarantee. You need not fear about getting counterfeit tickets.

You just have to make an online payment and then make plans to enjoy a memorable evening at the Great White Way. If your friends are coming for a visit and you wish to treat them to a Broadway musical, then you can always find great tickets even at the last minute at an authorized broker’s website. So from now on, you can quit worrying about getting the tickets. Just relax and enjoy a great show by securing tickets from an authorized ticket broker.

New York City theatre tickets are not hard to obtain if you know the right place to look for them. Many people are so keen on watching a Broadway show that they are willing to pay far more than the face value of the tickets.

An Evening At Broadway

New York City theatre tickets are usually a tough job to obtain as most shows are sold out months before the opening. There are shows that sell more than $400,000 worth in tickets in just one day! The typical evening entertainment for theatre lovers is watching a Broadway show or perhaps even an off-Broadway show.

New York City theatre tickets of shows that children may enjoy such as “The Lion King”, “The Little Mermaid”, and “The Beauty And The Beast” would ensure that a family vacation to New York is a most enjoyable one.

Most shows have an excellent combination of a great creative team and a superb cast that together present a most amazing performance which thrills audiences of all ages. Before you buy New York City theatre tickets, you should know that some shows may be inappropriate for children below 16 years of age. Another point to be noted is that most theatres do not admit children below 4 years of age.

Some shows can leave you with contemplation regarding the play for days at end, while others offer light hearted relief to the audiences. There is so much variety on offer- musicals, drama, classical, Shakespearean drama, mature comedy and Children’s shows. The difficult bit is securing the New York City theatre tickets for the shows of your choice; especially on days that you wish to watch them.

It is a fact that weekday tickets are not as costly as the weekend ones, especially Saturday night shows which are by far the most desired slot. The easiest and least expensive tickets available may be for shows that are scheduled to be performed on Monday nights or matinees. If you want cheap and inexpensive tickets then you can try getting the rush or lottery tickets, or opt for standing room only tickets. You can also try the TKTS booths to get tickets at a discount.

The most preferred method of securing New York City theatre tickets is via an authorized ticket broker. The ticket brokers go to great trouble in securing a huge collection of tickets for almost all events and shows. They can get you premium or regular tickets to the shows. You can book your tickets in advance or even get last minute tickets from them. They can also secure you front row tickets to sold-out shows if you do not mind paying extra.

Make sure that you use the services of a registered authorized ticket broker. They can get guaranteed tickets for you with least trouble. You can call them or make online purchases on their secure website. This purchase of tickets is at your convenience and that too 24/7. You do not have to stand in queues or wonder if the tickets that you have purchased are valid or not. Adding to the convenience is the early delivery of your tickets at the doorstep via Federal Express. The next time you wish to purchase New York City theatre tickets, just contact your authorized ticket broker.
